Romance blossoms at MSN Games!

Love is in the cards

What are the chances that you will find your soul mate when you are randomly seated at a poker table at MSN Games? According to two of our players, Heather and Daniel, the odds are 100% when Fate is dealing the cards!

Back in May 2006, Heather decided to try playing a game of Texas Hold‘Em on MSN Games and was randomly seated at a table with nine other players – little did she realize that Fate had a card hidden up its sleeve!

At the same table, Daniel, a young man with a lot of poker experience was getting ready to play for fun. There was no money on the table, but he had no idea how high the stakes would rise.

A quick run of beginner’s luck on Heather’s part quickly knocked the experienced poker buff, Daniel, out of the game – sparking a prolonged online exchange of friendly bickering between them.

Heather recounts the experience like this: “My first impression of Dan was that he was a little bit arrogant and cocky because I kicked him out of the game – and he is a bit competitive. But we were both good-natured and found it more humorous than anything.”

“Before Dan left the table, he provided me with his MSN Messenger contact information so we could continue talking. That night, we chatted until the early hours of the morning. And after that, we talked for hours every day!” says Heather.

But still they had yet to meet face-to-face.  Heather continues, “Dan flew to Calgary from Ottawa in October of that year – and when we met, it was exactly how we’d been with each other on line. I felt like we had known each other for years!”

Daniel promptly quit his job in Ottawa, had his family ship his belongings to him in Calgary, and never returned.

For the last three years, Daniel and Heather have rarely spent a day apart – they have been roommates, best friends, and boyfriend and girlfriend.

Table for two

Finally, on Thursday, July 28th, 2008, Daniel asked Heather out to dinner at the fanciest restaurant on the Bow River in Calgary . There, with a dozen red roses on the table and dozens of restaurant patrons watching, Daniel popped the question – asking Heather to become his wife.

Now that’s how to play a winning hand!

MSN Games wishes Daniel and Heather the best of luck in whatever the future holds in store for them!
