“How to play Bridge”

Step-by-step instructions for playing a Bridge game

Step 1

Click Sign in above Help at the top of the page to start and sign into your MSN Games account.

If you do not have a MSN Games account, view the following support article:

Step 2

If you are new to the site or the game, click Learn to Play at the bottom right of the page to read MSN Games game rules.

Step 3

Select one of the play mode buttons at the top of the page.

Play against computer: Play against computer players
Play with others: Casual play
Competitive Play: Serious play
Tournaments and Special Events: Dedicated to formal contests.

Although players are welcome to play in any game room, we recommend that first-time players play in “Play with Others” game rooms.

Step 4

If prompted, download and install the game software.

Step 5

Click a game room. Let the game room connect to MSN Games game servers, and a welcome dialog box will appear.

Read the welcome message and then close it. You will now see:

·         Game tables with chairs, seated people, and, in a Bridge, Hearts, or Spades room, computer players (bots).

·         A list of all players in the room, including:

o         Guests:  the number of guests in a room.

o         Friends:  you and those on your Friends list (players only)

o         People:  all other MSN Games players in that room

·         Chat dialog

·         Chat box to send

Step 6

To play by yourself in Bridge, click any chair at an empty table and then click Start.

To join a game in progress, look for a table with one or more computer players, click the computer player, and click Join.
