Install or update Macromedia® Flash Player

Some MSN Games are designed to be viewed with Macromedia Flash Player, an Internet browser plug-in. A prompt to install this software appears the first time you attempted to play a game. If for some reason the plug-in did not install or if it had become corrupt, you must install the plug-in directly from the Adobe® website. Firewall conflict

Some firewall programs may not allow the game file to download correctly.

If you are using Norton Internet Security (NIS), this issue is a know issue with this software. Follow the steps below to remove Port 80 from the HTTP Port list.

Step 1

Close all Internet Browser windows.

Step 2

Click the NIS notification area icon, and then select Norton Internet Security from the top of the list.

Step 3

Click Options.

Step 4

Click the Firewall tab.

Step 5

Under the "HTTP port" list, locate and highlight the number 80 in the list, highlight it, and then click Remove.

If you have any other firewall program, temporarily disable the firewall. MSN Games caches games in the Internet cache. Therefore, temporarily disabling the firewall and causing the list to refresh is a possible workaround. Make sure that the firewall is re-enabled immediately after the list is refreshed.

Important: We recommend that you evaluate the risks that are associated with implementing this workaround in your particular environment. If you implement this workaround, take any appropriate steps to help protect the system.

Step 1

Close all Internet Browser windows.

Step 2

Right-click the icon for the firewall or antivirus software in the System Tray (the area by the System Clock on the Task bar), and then click Disable. If this option is not available, click Exit.

Step 3

Go to http://games.msn.com and try playing the game gain.

Step 4

Once the game successfully loads, re-enable the firewall. To do this, start your firewall program from the list of programs. If you require further assistance with your firewall software, please consult the software’s help files or manual.

If turning off your firewall software resolves this issue, please contact the firewall software development support team for assistance in updating this software to work with MSN Games.
