Uninstall Messenger game files

Uninstall the ActiveX control

For directions on removing game software, follow these steps.

Step 1

Close all browser windows.

Step 2

Click Start and then Control Panel.

If the Control Panel window is empty, click View all Control Panel Options in the left section of the window to show all the icons.

Step 3

Double-click Internet Options.

You may need to click the Network and Internet Connections icon before clicking Internet Options.

Step 4

In Windows XP, on the General tab, click Settings in the Browsing History or Temporary Internet Files section, and then View Objects.

In Windows Vista, on the Programs tab, click Manage Add-ons, and change Show to “Downloaded ActiveX Controls” by clicking the down arrow and selecting this option.

Step 5

Locate MessengerStatsClient Class.

Step 6

Click to highlight it and then click the Delete in the File menu in Windows XP, or Delete in Windows Vista. Remove this file.

Step 7

Repeat Step 6 to remove the following files:

ZoneBuddy Class
ZoneIntro Class
MSN Games - Installer

If a second MessengerStatsClient Class file appears, remove this file.

For Bankshot Billiards Club, remove CBreakshotControl Class.

For Checkers, remove Checkers Class.

For Chess Club, remove ZoneChess Object.

For Minesweeper Flags, remove Minesweeper Flags Class.

For Mozaki Blocks, remove ZoneAcRcMgrl Class.

Solitaire Showdown, remove Solitaire Showdown Class.

UNO^®, remove UnoCtrl.

Upwords^® Club, remove ZoneUpwords Object.

For Wheel of Fortune, remove WheelofFortune Object.

If you see a control that looks similar to {AE1C01E3-0283-11D3-9B3F-00C04F8EF466}, remove it also. This file is a corrupt download. (If you have multiple files that start with a bracket followed by a letter or number, remove them all.)

Step 8

Close all Windows.

If you need to reinstall game files, you will be prompted to install them next time you play the game.
