“Stalling players”

Send a reminder message

The new multiplayer games have features that prevent stalling (i.e. players who are waiting around and/or not making their next game move). If a player has not taken their turn, first, send a chat message reminding them that it is their turn.

If the player ignores this options, Depending on the game you are playing, a player may forfeit a turn, lose game points, or be booted from the game. For more help, view the sections below.

Backgammon stall help

Rated or Standard Game – When the message indicating a player is stalling appears in the chat window, follow these steps.

Step 1

Click Player Info and then Yes to remove the player from the game.

Step 2

That player then has a limited time in which to make a move. If the player fails to make a move with in that time, the player will be replaced by a computer player.

Note:  If the other player is removed from a Rated Game, you will receive a win towards your official Rating even if you disconnect from the game. (Your overall Win/Loss record does not affect your Rating.)

Short Game – If a player stalls in Short Game, the player will forfeit the game when game timer runs out. This process may take time.

You can either quit the game and take a loss, or remain in the game until the timer runs out.

Rated or Pro Rules Game – A player has a limited amount of time in which to make a shot. If the player fails to shoot with in that time, the player will forfeit that turn when the timer runs out.

Note:  If the other player disconnects from a Rated Game, you will receive a win towards your official Rating even if you disconnect from the game. (Your overall Win/Loss record does not affect your Rating.)

Step 1

Click Player Info and then Yes to remove the player from the game.

Step 2

That player then has a limited time in which to make a shot. If the player fails to make a move with in that time, the player will be replaced by a computer player.

Checkers stall help

Rated, Standard, or Suicide Game – When the message indicating a player is stalling appears in the chat window, follow these steps.

Step 1

Click Player Info and then Yes to remove the player from the game.

Step 2

That player then has a limited time in which to make a move. If the player fails to make a move with in that time, the player will be replaced by a computer player.

Rated or Short Game – Each player has a limited time in which to play a domino. If the player stalls and the timer runs out, the computer will auto-play a domino. If a player stalls three times in a game, the player will forfeit the game.

Standard or Standard 4-Player Game – When the message indicating a player is stalling appears in the chat window, follow these steps.

Step 1

Click Player Info and then Yes to remove the player from the game.

Step 2

That player then has a limited time in which to play a domino. If the player fails to make a move with in that time, the player will be replaced by a computer player.

Hearts stall help

Rated, Standard, or Jack of Diamonds Game – When the message indicating a player is stalling appears in the chat window, follow these steps.

Step 1

Click Player Info and then Yes to remove the player from the game.

Step 2

That player then has a limited time in which to play. That player then has a limited time in which to make a move. If the player fails to make a move with in that time, the player will be replaced by a computer player.

Note:  If the other player is removed from a Rated Game, you will receive a win towards your official Rating even if you disconnect from the game. (Your overall Win/Loss record does not affect your Rating.)
